Village Roll of Honour

The following people have made great contributions historically to community life in the Arcadia villages.  Others will be added from time to time.  Currently serving Charity Commissioners and Volunteers are excluded.   The Charter tab may give you a little more historical information.

1913:  Miss Ellen Stock gave the former Church Hall to the village.

1926:  Lt Col John Ward, CB, CMG, in his own words a former Appleshaw ploughboy, who became MP for Stoke on Trent and gave the Ward Memorial Playing Field to the village.  Follow this link - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Ward_(trade_unionist) - to find out more about him!
